  • 6 reasons never give up drinking tea

I have the habit of drinkink tea throughout the day. I believe it keeps me energised and improves my cognition. Though, I am being told it is the bad habit, and it can have serious consequences on my health. So, tea-lover in me woke up and did some research on how tea beneficial can be. And here is what I found. Scroll through to find out 6 reasons never give up drinking tea.

    Keeps diabetes away:

According to review in journal, Nutrition Bulletin, drinking 2 or more cups of tea per day might protect against type 2 diabetes. This effect is also due to high antioxidant content.

    Keeps the heart healthy:

The same study that was conducted at University of Western Australia also claimed that the drinking tea lowers risk of developing the heart disease. The antioxidant content of the tea is responsible for this effect. The researchers believed that if people start drinking tea regularly, their risk of heart disease would be reduced by 7 to 8%.

    Reduces breast cancer risk:

Tea is rich in polyphenols that possess the antioxidant and tumour fighting properties. A study claimed that the polyphenol content of tea decreases the breast cancer risk by 21% in regular tea drinkers as compared to non-drinkers.

    Controls blood pressure levels:

Scientists at University of Western Australia have found that drinking up to 8 cups of tea a day lowers blood pressure. According to scientists, if the study were extended to general population, number of the people with the high blood pressure would be cut by 10%.

    Treats alcohol-induced stomach ulcers:

Black tea is known to enhance immunity, but a study claimed that it can also help to treat alcohol-induced stomach ulcers. An Indian study claimed that an aqueous extract of the black tea has a regulatory effect on the group of proteins that play a pivotal role in development and healing of a gastric ulcer.

    Keeps ovarian cancer away:

A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggested that the drinking tea could confer protection against ovarian cancer. Women who drank 2 cups of tea per day had one-third reduced risk of developing ovarian cancer. This cancer-fighting property is also linked to high flavonoid content.
