There is no such thing as a perfect relationship. But why do we always yearn for a perfect partner in love? Truth is, it is very easy to fall in love with a person; staying in love with the same person is not. Falling in love is the most natural and spontaneous human experience. Romantics would argue that you don’t have to do anything in love and that is why it is called “falling” in love.
Some couple spends years together, only to end up at a breaking point, or worse, in another partner’s arms. Well, I do not condone the latter. But it happens.
I am no expert in relationships but I believe that the key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found. It is not finding the right person but being the right person for your partner and everything will fall into place. That before you demand anything from someone, ask yourself first if you deserve such person.
Every relationship is a two-way process. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes effort, time and energy if you want the relationship to be a success.
Love for me, therefore, is a choice; a decision to make, and not just a feeling.
