Actress Amrita Puri is going to make her debut on small screens with Anurag Basu’s show. She is playing a lead role in this show titled as “Charulata”. This show is an adaption of legendary writer Rabindranath Tagore’s novel.
This show will be aired in the month of June this year on EPIC Channel. This is touted to be India’s first segmented entertainment channel in Hindi. This channel will be launched by director Anurag Basu soon.
The actress says, “Being a literature student, I was excited to be offered the role. Tagore’s work is a legacy and part of History. His stories are women-centric and progressive and Charulata is one such beautiful story.”
She adds, “I am a method actor and I like to delve into the character. However, Anurag works differently. He is spontaneous and goes with the flow; I had to unlearn all I knew to work according to him.”
