Although winning four consecutive sectional championships will set the school's record, the Vikings still have much to do toward being a definite postseason contender.
"I don't know as we're still in the process of growing. I hope we can become an elite team capable of doing this. I don't think that we're there yet," Bales said of the chance for the team to win an area championship. "We've to figure out how effectively defend ... Try not to make the errors that aren't forced. There's a lot of growing to do, and certainly (a sectional title) is where we hope to be."

"I am not sure because we're not yet ready to expand. I would like to see us become the kind of team capable of accomplishing that. I don't think we're there yet," Bales said of the team's chances at a sectional championship. "We've got to learn how to defend better ... try not to commit the mistakes that don't have to be forced. So we've got some growing to do. Certainly (a divisional name) is where we hope to end up."
The Vikings will ultimately reach as far as Madden will take them. She started the season scoring 1,000 points and averaging about a 16-point double-double over the last two seasons and will probably soon be over 1,000 career rebound.
Madden has been the main element in Blue River's return to postseason prominence and Blue River's win on Tuesday night's win by 77-63 over Wapahani (4-2) was a clear demonstration of her importance. She notched 27 points, 12 of them in the fourth quarter that halted the Raiders in their comeback attempts, and dominated the paint all game from both ends.
Madden has been asked to play more during the season. Her role as an inside player has been expanded since she's now allowed to sometimes play on the
