Hindi film music was at its golden peak in the 1960s. The music composed by legends like S.D. Burman, Hemant Kumar, Shankar-Jaikishan, O.P. Nayyar and others produced thousands of evergreen songs sung by an extremely talented set of singers. Geeta Dutt, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Suman Kalyanpur were the top female singers.
