ESPN cited sources Sunday as saying Stanton has partially torn ACL and MCL ligaments. Stanton was hurt during Thursdays game against St. Louis. Reports on Friday said Stanton had a pair of sprained knee ligaments and the team had considered him day-to-day. Partially torn ligaments would likely keep Stanton sidelined for about 3-to-4 weeks. If the 11-3 Cardinals can earn a first-round bye in the playoffs, they would not play a postseason game until the weekend of Jan. 10-11, which would be four weeks away. The Cardinals currently lead the NFC West with games remaining against Seattle and San Francisco. Stanton was starting in place of the injured Carson Palmer, who is out for the season with a torn knee ligament suffered in early November. Ryan Lindley took over for Stanton against the Rams.
